Free Regional Meeting Northern Ireland
The Northern Ireland region are holding a free to attend meeting - President Elect Session - Professional Standards and Effectively Carrying out a 'One Day Survey'
Date: 6 September 2019
Venue: HSENI, Ladas Drive
Speaker: Kelvin Williams - BOHS President Elect
Programme: President Elect Session - Professional Standards and Effectively Carrying out a 'One Day Survey'
The one day survey typically allows about 8 hours to orientate to site, set out sampling equipment, assess exposures and adequacy of controls, find out what goes on when you're not there and decide what, if anything, needs to be done. There may be serious consequences if the survey is not carried out well. It’s a tall order, and a high professional standard is required. In the context of a discussion of professional standards this workshop seeks to identify and improve skills required to assess workplace exposures and improve control of risk on the basis of a one day site visit.
The interactive session will cover :
A discussion of professional standards
Research and preparation for a survey
Conduct of site visit
Handling small data sets and report preparation
Case studies
CPD: This meeting will count towards CPD
