Fit Test Simulator demonstration [Martin Belcher/Julie Helps–HSE]
HSE estimates that 20,000 new cases of occupational respiratory disease and 12,000 deaths are occurring each year in the UK. RPE is used in combination with other control measures to control airborne exposure to contaminants. To be effective it is vital that RPE is selected to be adequate for the contaminant/s and suitable for the wearer, task and environment. This talk will discuss the selection and use of RPE and the face fit test simulator will be used to demonstrate the importance of fit and suitability of filter selection.
